Transformers: Engeron Grimlock and Swoop review
I'm going to start with Swoop. Personally I like this new Swoop the Transformation is quite simple. Some fans have sort of put this figure down based on the fact that it's dinosaur mode looks silly with jet pacts. I don't see that way as a flyer in a war speed can a difference and the designs on the jetpack/lower legs suggest that weapons could be hidden in the sides. Although that might be for an artist to draw. The robot mode he reminds a lot of Razial from the Legacy of Kain video games. The biggest problem that I have with the toy is the shoulder pads they fit on the arms in robot mode.
Grimlock-To say that this toy is a G1 homage is not quite right this toy IS the G1 Grimlock reborn for the 21st centry! The Transformation is almost exactly like the orginal with the exception of opening the back to fit the T-Rex head in robot and some yellow tabs to in the tail/feet section to balance the toy in robot mode. While is Dinosaur mode reminds me a little more of a raptor than a T-Rex but other than that the toy is solid.
The only problem is the lack of a double-barrel rocket launcher and a sword for the character to hold in robot mode but the his two front dino claws become daggers while this is cool I would rather have had the gun and sword.
The two can combine to form Mega Dinobot but since I've had more fun with two very cool figures I've yet to form him.
For $20.00 (USA) this 2 pack is a must for fans of the orginal Dinobots, Energon, and Transformers in general. They are very cool figures.

Transformers: Classics The Dinobots Mini-Cons Review
Yep Grimlock's crack commando unit returns this time as mini-cons.
The 3 in the set are: Terrorsaur (a T-Rex) Knockdown (Triatops) Swoop (who returns as usual a Pterodactyl).
Terrosaur- reminds a lot of a mini-con version of BW Megatron is the simplest of the 3 to transform is probably the most possible.
Knockdown- is a decent figure not bad, but not outstandingly cool either. He's just meh.
Swoop in one word-sucks. As a Pterodactyl he works but as a robot he fails miserable. His robot mode reminds me of the Pterodactyl in Walking With Dinosaurs when it lands and tries to walk. The Robot mode simply sucks.
It's interesting to note that all 3 still have the holes to Powerlink them to any Armada, Energon, and Cybertron toys that have that feature, you might have lying around, and that they also don't have the Mini-Con logo on them, instead they all have the Autobot logo on them! So does that make them Mini-Bots?
Overall-The Mini-Cons are OK (except for Swoop) for $7.00 bucks they're over-priced, wait till their on sale or just buy the Giant Planet or (Shadow) Recon Mini-Cons from the Cybertron line, or just buy a Scrampmetal all of which are better and worth $7.00., because sadly The Dinobots aren't worth $7.00, maybe $3 or $4.

Transformers: Classics Hot Rod (aka Rodimus) Review
Hot Rod is back, lets party! Sorry I couldn't resist.
Hot Rod (like LG I refuse to call him "Rodimus") returns as a cool race car, which looks just like his G1 counterpart.
Hot Rod's robot mode is a pretty cool version of the character from the animated movie. However there are some problems. The figure tends to bend over a lot, (maybe he's waiting for Optimus to kick him in the ass for that stupid stunt he pulled in TF:TM that got OP killed). He stands up but the waist and legs seem to bend over fall down with very little effort in time this could be a problem, especailly since the figure is kind of top heavy.
My only other 2 problems is the missell. I wish that Hasbro would stop making missells for the Transformers that have cannons as a tail pipe look like fire or exhaust or whatever (Cybertron's Crosswise/Smokescreen hd this as well) while it looks cool as a car (sometimes), but as a robot holding a missell launcher it's just plain stupid looking. My second problem is there is no Autobot logo on the hood/chest of the figure.
The Transformation is not hard, but not as easy as classic Astrotrain or Jetfire.
Final thoughts-A decent figure while I think there are some concerns for the future of it. In the meantime Hot Rod is back!

Transformers: Classics Megatron Review
Gun Mode-Megatron is back as futuristic looking Nerf gun. Once you can get past the wacky looking gun there is a pretty complex transformation process. Which is not something I like.
Robot Mode-This Megatron looks like a bit like an angel (maybe he's a fallen angel) the green color that lines the insides of the gun/the interior wings and are little weird looking. I think that red might have been a better choice, especially for the back of the head and the eyes. The gun sight/fusion cannon when placed correctly is up-side down but the arm can be spun around to correct this, but the hand can't be spun around as well. Classic Megatron is pretty possiable as well.
Final thoughts-Pretty cool looking even with it's bizarre paint scheme, complex transformation, and lack of accessories, it might not be as great as Takara's upcoming Masterpiece Megatron is looking to be, but this is still worthy of the name of Megatron and your collection.

Transformers: Classics Optimus Prime vs. Megatron: The Ultimate Battle 2 Pack review
I was able to get to the Transformers: Classics Optimus Prime vs Megatron: The Ultimate Battle 2 Pack with the DVD of the same name for free at TRU. They had a deal that if you bought 2 Transformers you could get a third for free (if was of the same or lesser value) and I was able to convince my dad to the new Voyager sized TF: Classics of Optimus Prime and Megatron and I got the 2 pack for free.
First we'll start off with Megatron. This Megatron transforms into a tank and is supposed to be a homage to the G2 one, although there are a plenty of changes namely that the main cannon for the tank, is now the robot's whole left arm (he has only one hand) and is not a shoulder mount. He's roughly about the size of deluxe Transformer in robot mode.
It's pretty possible although the cannon arm's is pretty lose and can easily fall off, and there is a hook that when lowered spins the cannon.
Transformation is fairly simple but the inter-locking shoulders that form the upper turret can be a small problem.
Now on to Optimus Prime-This is a new G1 version of Prime, and is for the most pretty cool looking.
The truck is a smaller version of the original Optimus Prime with a spot where you can place the gun.
In robot mode the toy is pretty possible...maybe a little to possible the toy's gimmick is a super punch (like his final blow to Megatron in TF: TM) the only problem is that gimmick is so loose that you don't need to push the button to spin the figure. This Optimus Prime has a different gun than the usual G1 Prime. It's looks more like a futuristic machine gun and it can fold to fit in the hole in the alt mode.
The DVD is a 22 minute long retrospective of the Armada, Energon, and Cybertron TV shows with Gary Chalk narrating it as Optimus Prime. It's a fun little show but it's nothing special, it also has a photo gallery of the first wave of Transformers: Classics.
Final thoughts: For $20 this isn't it a bad deal, but it's not a great deal either. The figures are extremely lose and the DVD while good seems more like a thrown away episode of Cybertron (Prime talks about who and what the Transformers are and tells about the CyberKeys, Mini-Cons, the sizes and weapons of TFs, Megatron, and etc) it tells those who know already know about Transformers nothing new and those who don't not enough. It meets the worth of it's price but only just barely.
If you absolutely love the G1 Prime and like the G2 Megatron, or if you just love the classics, then go out and buy it now, otherwise it's not a rush to buy.

Transformers: Classics Tankor review
The third Decepticon Triple Changer Octane returns as Tankor in the new Transformers: Universe Classic series. He transforms into a cargo plane, a semi-truck and a robot.
Pros: His plane mode looks pretty cool.
Cons: Where to begin? Transforming this thing from plane to truck is a major pain in the ass. The shoulders and arms of the robot mode is impossible to pose. The plane wings constantly pop off. The guns are small and feel very fragile.
This is a toy that might look cool as a drawing but in reality it's a major failure. I only recommend it for fans of the Decepticon triple changers otherwise due yourself a big favor and skip it altogether.
Transformers Universe Classic series Tankor gets a 0 out of 5.

Transformers: Animated Leader Class Megatron
The supreme Decepticon leader, Megatron, returns for a second (or is it a third) time in Transformers: Animated line this time as a an attack helicopter.
Pros: OK I admit that I've been hard on Transformers: Animated and while some of the designs still don't appeal to me (like Soundwave) this one did appeal to me. Transformation is a breeze although a quick glance at the instructions might be a good idea. He's surprisingly very possible, and also very sturdy and well balanced. There are 3 lines of dialogue ("Where is the Allspark?", "Crush the Autobots!", and "Ha ha") and two sound effects.
Cons: There are few problems with the toy as well. His arms don't connect to the torso without being pushed in and they constantly pop out. The swords (that transform from the propellers) are thin and could be bent out of shape. The shoulders can rub next to back, where the propellers are placed this could be a problem down the road.
Final thoughts: A good design that while it has it flaws it's still worth the $40.00 (USA) price tag.
Transformers: Animated Megatron Leader Class gets a 4 out of 5.

Transformers: Universe Cyclonus Review
Cyclonus returns as an updated version of his G1 Targetmaster version. This is probably the best of the new Transformers: Universe classic series 2 molds. Cyclonus transforms into a "hypersonic starfighter" (as labeled on the card) while maybe not as sleek and cool looking as the G1 version, but this mold feel a lot more sturdier than the original one and looks a lot closer to his cartoon show counterpart.
Cyclonus comes with his Nebulan Targetmaster partner Nightstick who also get a bit of an overhaul. Nightstick can move his arms and looks a better than his G1 counterpart. His gun mode reminds of Dirty Harry's .44 Magnum.
Transformation was a snap I didn't have too look at the instructions although you might want to if you run into problems with him.
In robot mode is where Cyclonus really shines. He looks like he just step out of the cartoon show. There seems to be no problems in robot mode and he is very articulate allowing for poses.
If there is one Transformers toy to get this year then this would be it. It simply rocks.
Cyclonus gets a 5 out of 5.
